Learn to make glass beads in the artistic Town of St Ives Cornwall

This is the perfect course for anyone interested in glass beads

Each student will have sole use of a Norton Minor Torch for the duration of the course
No experience is necessary to enjoy any of the workshops
St Ives has a thriving arts scene, the town is packed with art galleries, we have a TATE GALLERY and the famous Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden and Bernard Leach Pottery

St Ives is famous for its artists so why not combine a holiday with a workshop on glass bead making traditionally known as lampwork

There will be TRY THE GLASS DAYS (TASTER) days - THESE WILL BE HELD WEEKLY
one day and two day workshops available
Group or one to one workshops

All workshops will be designed for the absolute beginner and we will discuss safety, studio set up and some basic beginners techniques. In addition to this we will discuss annealing and cleaning the beads ready for stringing

All tools are provided and materials included in the course fee

Dates are flexible please email me if you are interested

There will be drinks & biscuits available, please bring a packed lunch

During the breaks you are welcome to browse through my range of beautiful lampwork bead books and take any notes or photographs

The workshops will begin at 10.00.a.m. finishes at 4.30p.m.

All the beads you make and information on lampworking will be yours at the end of the course, and probably the start of your journey of glass bead addiction!

I am a trained graphic artist and also Lectured for 12 years so I hope you will enjoy my Lampworking course and teaching methods

My training in lampworking has been by attending workshops on Murano Island off Venice, also in Florence, Italy with the Italian well I should say VENETIAN Master Bead Makers

The glass used at the workshop is Italian bought from Murano, Venice, it is of the highest standard

The workshop is in the Town centre - close to all the restaurants, shops and art galleries

I can arrange accommodation locally if you wish
