beadsashore studio/workshop
Welcome to sunny St Ives and my wonderful Studio
The cat isnt the artist! ....
My lovely Gingo sadly passed away in December 2009 at the age of 19 years
I have decided to leave the photographs here for a while because well just because I miss him so much
I also want to thanks the tons of lovely people who have sent me lovely cards and letters with nice thoughts of Gingo, the quay in St Ives wont be the same without him, he had more friends that I have and was probably the most photographed cat in Cornwall
So now to me....
I live on the Quay in St Ives - I have a wonderful Harbour View...

phew busy busy busy........

Ever since I can remember I have always made things, I was always drawing, cutting up, sewing, painting, sticking things together, knitting, patchwork quilting, etc etc !

I was looking for beads to trim a blind and could not find what I was looking for, so decided to research 'how to make a bead' I had seen artists in Venice making the glass beads but never dreamed that it could be possible for me or anyone else working alone and not in a huge factory

The more I researched the idea of creating my own beads the more I knew I really had to find out if I could achieve this, eventually I travelled to Italy using part of my holiday to attend a workshop on lampworking

After the workshop I was totally hooked and came back to Cornwall and proceeded to set up my lampworking/glass studio

beadsashore

This is when my bead journey really began, as it takes many hours at the torch to achieve decent quality beads and every day I learn something new - usually by making mistakes! its a real learning curve, also the studio set up was very frustrating and without the help of my better half would have been unachievable - so thank you to him and his patience ............

Now I hope my customers will enjoy wearing the beads as much as I enjoy creating them
